Steven Reginald Huxley a Paedophile from Ellesmere Port was sentenced to 23 years in jail and mandated to register as a sex offender for life at Liverpool Crown Court on Wednesday, 22 January.
A 72-year-old resident of Ellesmere Port, Steven Huxley, was previously convicted of 17 counts of sexual offences against minors, including the rape of a girl under 13 and assault by penetration, after a 7-day trial at Liverpool Crown Court that completed on Wednesday, 9 October 2024.
Steven Huxley had previously admitted guilt to three charges of creating indecent photos of children, three counts of capturing indecent images of children, one count of holding indecent images of children, possession of forbidden images of minors, and possession of severe pornography.
During the trial, the court was informed that the abuse involved two victims and transpired between 2005 and 2008, as well as between 2006 and 2011.
Steven Huxley occupied a position of trust; but, when the victims visited him, he failed to care for them and instead subjected each youngster to recurrent sexual assault over several years.
Upon the notification of the abuse to Cheshire Police, a warrant was executed at Huxley’s residence, resulting in the confiscation of his gadgets.
During digital forensic examination, authorities uncovered more than 130,000 unclassified photos illustrating child sexual exploitation. Among these photographs, 30 were classified as category A, 27 as category B, 1,239 as category C, 257 as extreme pornography, and 250 as prohibited images.
Fifty-six photos identified were first-generation photographs that Steven Huxley personally captured of his kid victims.
Detective Constable Yvonne Graham stated, “What Steven Huxley perpetrated was the worst nightmare for every parent.”
“He was entrusted with the care of the victims, yet instead of providing support, he exploited their vulnerability.” He perpetrated sexual abuse against them repeatedly, inflicting significant pain and grief.
“The ability to bring Huxley to justice, despite the passage of 20 years since some of the offences, attests to the strength, bravery, and determination of the victims in this case.” I anticipate that the resolution of this case will offer them closure and facilitate their recovery.
“The sexual assault of children inflicts profound distress on all parties, particularly the victim. I implore anyone who has experienced sexual assault, regardless of the time elapsed since the incident, to come forward and report it.”
“We regard all reports of sexual offences with utmost seriousness, prioritising the victim’s wishes and needs, and all allegations will be rigorously investigated.”
